❓ Frequently Asked Questions – Title and Property Transfers
1. Can a notary help me transfer a land title in Saskatchewan?
Yes, a notary public can witness and notarize your ISC land title transfer documents and submit them online using the ISC Online Land System (OLS) on your behalf. We do not offer legal advice or draft the forms ourselves — we rely on the information you provide.
2. What is a “Transfer to Surviving Joint Tenant”?
This form is used when one of the joint landowners has passed away, and the remaining joint tenant needs to assume full ownership. A government-issued death certificate is required, and the form must be notarized and submitted to ISC.
3. Do I need a lawyer or can I just use a notary public?
If you know exactly what needs to be done and already have the required documents, a notary public can witness, notarize, and submit your title transfer. However, we do not give legal advice — consult a lawyer if you are unsure of how to proceed.
4. What do I need to bring to my notary appointment?
- Completed ISC forms (or all required information)
- Government-issued ID
- Death certificate (if transferring to a surviving joint tenant)
- Any supporting documents mentioned on the ISC forms
- Payment for notary services (and separately, ISC filing fees if we submit for you)
5. Can you fill out the ISC forms for me?
We can assist with filling out forms strictly based on your instructions, but we are not permitted to interpret legal terms or offer advice. Please ensure your information is complete and accurate.
6. Do you offer submission to ISC after notarizing?
Yes! We can handle the digital submission through ISC’s Online Land System (OLS) after notarization. This is optional and available upon request.
7. Do you provide mobile or evening appointments?
Yes. We offer mobile, evening, and weekend appointments in Saskatoon, Corman Park, Warman, and Martensville when possible. Additional travel fees may apply.
8. What does it cost to notarize land transfer documents?
Pricing varies depending on the number of signatures and whether submission to ISC is requested. A quote will be provided upfront. ISC also charges a separate filing fee for title transfers.
9. Do you provide witnesses if required?
Yes — we can provide witnesses for your land transfer documents, as long as they are not family members or involved parties. Please request this in advance.
10. Is this service confidential?
Absolutely. All client information and documents are handled securely and confidentially. We comply with privacy and legal standards in Saskatchewan.
